A letter from the President
My name is Elise Horbach and I am the President of Delta Delta Delta at Illinois State University. I joined Tri Delta two years ago. After the anxiety of recruitment and the relief of seeing Tri Delta on my Bid Day card, a new anxiety crept in about what to expect as a member of Tri Delta. Would I fit in? Would I make lifelong friends? I’m happy to say that this worry quickly faded as I immediately experienced encouragement and inspiration from my sisters. From dedicating time to our philanthropy to participating in sisterhood events and encouraging new members to run for leadership positions, my sisters made me feel right at home. I knew that Tri Delta was where I belonged and where I wanted to spend my time.
I’ve found through my time as a Tri-Delta that our motto, “let us steadfastly love one another,” rings true. Our sisterhood reflects this motto in every moment that we support and accept each other exactly how we are. The bonds of our sisterhood are strong. I have met lifelong friends, role models, and future bridesmaids (even though it sounds cheesy, it’s true!).
Not only do we love strongly within our chapter, but our goal is to share and expand that love to our community. Through our philanthropy St. Jude and volunteering in Bloomington-Normal, we dedicate our time and effort to spreading hope for the people of our community and beyond.
Personally, I have loved every moment of being part of this amazing sisterhood. I have experienced endless support, love, and encouragement from my sisters. I am inspired every day to be the best I can be through seeing my sisters pursue their dreams and work hard toward their goals. I am blessed and grateful every day for the women and sisterhood I have received from Tri Delta.
Thank you for reading what sisterhood means to me. Please look around the website to see what sisterhood means to us.
With steadfast love,
