Academics

Academics are very important to us as a chapter. We strive to be the best academic performers we can be and place academics as a top priority. In our chapter, we hold workshops to provide academic assistance to members and act as a learning experience. They can be at the beginning of the semester or at the end closer to finals. These workshops discuss tips for success, advice for finals, how to study, ways to relieve stress, and much more. In our chapter, we have study hours at our house, in which some members can study while others can help out. In addition, our chapter recognizes scholastic achievement and promotes academic success resources. We do what is called A-Jar, where if you get an A on something, you can be entered to win a prize. Also, we do Diligent Dolphin, where you nominate someone that has been working hard on a project/test or putting in lots of work at the library. We acknowledge achievements, big or small, and reward members for their success. During finals, we have treats at the house for members, which helps relieve some stress. Academic success is crucial to us as a chapter and we do many things throughout the semester to promote academic excellence.

Our chapter has at least two academic workshops per semester that focus on study tips and suggestions to help members do their best in all their classes. We also like to provide study sessions at the house for members during finals and midterms. This encourages members to get together with their sisters and study in a supportive environment. Our Academic Chair is always working hard to provide support for our members in their academics and is a great resource to go to at any time. We, as a chapter, are committed to providing all our members with the correct resources to make all our members successful in their school work while having the experience of sisterhood to support them along the way.
